Job Title : Billing Clerk
Job Description -
A billing clerk is responsible for maintaining and managing billing processes within a company. They ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payments, and record-keeping. The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of billing systems and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute invoices to clients or customers on a regular basis
- Review billing data for accuracy and completeness
- Enter invoice information into the accounting system
- Follow up with clients or customers regarding outstanding payments or discrepancies
- Process payments received, including cash, checks, or electronic transfers
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Maintain updated customer files and documentation of billing activities
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues or disputes
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to billing
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a billing clerk or similar role preferred
- Familiarity with billing software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
Skills required -
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
