The Operating Theatre (OT) Attendant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating theatre and equipment, as well as providing support to the surgical team during surgical procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities-
Prepare the operating theatre for surgical procedures, ensuring cleanliness and availability of required equipment and supplies.
Assist in positioning and draping patients for surgery.
Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and other surgical team members during procedures.
Monitor and maintain aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures.
Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating theatre.
Clean and sterilize operating theatre equipment and instruments.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment in the operating theatre.
Adhere to safety standards and protocols in the operating theatre.
Qualifications-
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in the operating theatre.
Skills Requirements-
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy equipment and patients.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
