Job Summary
The ICU Technician is responsible for providing technical support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), assisting medical staff in delivering critical care to patients. The role includes handling specialized equipment, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring efficient operation of ICU facilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain ICU equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Assist in patient care by monitoring vitals and ensuring proper functioning of life-support systems.
- Support doctors and nurses during medical procedures.
- Ensure timely maintenance and calibration of ICU equipment.
- Maintain records of patient data and equipment usage.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols within the ICU.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and patients' families regarding patient care.
Qualifications Needed
- Diploma or certification in ICU Technology or related field.
- Prior experience in an ICU or critical care setting is preferred.
- Basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in handling ICU equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
