The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment to ensure its optimal functioning and compliance with safety standards. The role also involves training end-users, managing equipment inventory, and supporting procurement and regulatory compliance.
Install, test, and calibrate new biomedical equipment as per manufacturer guidelines.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical devices and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment to minimize downtime.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, service schedules, and equipment history.
Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in evaluating and selecting biomedical equipment during procurement processes.
Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on equipment usage.
Coordinate with vendors for servicing under warranty or annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
Monitor equipment performance and suggest upgrades or replacements when needed.
Ensure proper documentation for audits, NABH, or other compliance bodies.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
0–3 years of relevant experience in a hospital, diagnostic center, or medical device company.
Freshers with internships in biomedical roles may also apply.
Strong understanding of medical equipment functionality and maintenance.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of compliance standards such as NABH, CE, and FDA.
Proficient in using diagnostic and calibration tools.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team.
Willingness to travel for onsite support or training if required.
