Job Summary:
The Junior Genome Analyst is responsible for analyzing genomic data, interpreting results, and assisting in research or diagnostic applications. This role involves working with bioinformatics tools, sequencing technologies, and genetic databases to support clinical or research projects.
Process and analyze genomic sequencing data using bioinformatics tools.
Assist in variant calling, annotation, and interpretation of genetic data.
Maintain accurate records of genomic findings and prepare reports.
Work closely with senior analysts, researchers, and clinicians to support genomic studies.
Ensure data quality and comply with regulatory guidelines for genetic testing.
Stay updated with advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular biology.
Support the development and validation of new genetic tests and pipelines.
Education: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields.
Experience: 0-2 years in genomic data analysis or bioinformatics (freshers with relevant academic projects may apply).
Familiarity with NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data analysis and interpretation.
Proficiency in bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, GATK, IGV, or similar platforms.
Basic knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, Perl) is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
